Siko automated actuators in production lines can help reduce set-up times as well as enhance production efficiency and flexibility. The packaging manufacturer Fischerwerke benefited from using the AG05 series actuators with significant results.
The key requirement for this flexibility is the reduction of set-up times in the production line. A significant increase in efficiency can be realised by automating set-up processes with networked actuators supporting agile manufacturing production and lean manufacturing. It does this by allowing you to to respond quickly to your customers needs and market changes while still controlling costs and quality.
Fischer Werke operates several production lines with automated actuators, in particular the Siko AG05 actuator. By using over 50 Siko actuators, fischer was able to reduce the set-up times of several production lines from 45 minutes to under 5 minutes. In addition to the low weight and small installation size, the customer was particularly impressed by the connectivity and long-term reliability of the solution and the flexibility gained in the production process. Incoming orders can be dealt with quickly without having to stock the full range of items.
The Siko automated quick changeover systems has the ability to connect to Profinet, RS485 or CANopen interface. The AG05 is used in combination with of Siko ECT5000 HMI and up to 31 devices that include the AP04, AP04s, AP10, AP10s, AG03/1, AG05, AG06 and IO20. These devices help to monitor and change the axis position of spindle on machine applications.
